Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Timings:
- Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri: 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
- Saturday: 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) serves as the face of the company, providing high quality, compassionate service to patients. This role is responsible for collecting quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and confidentiality at all times. The PSR I plays a vital role in creating an atmosphere of trust and comfort while maintaining strong professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily phlebotomy and specimen-processing duties accurately and on schedule under the direction of the Area Supervisor.
- Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations.
- Prepare and label specimens following established procedures and quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills while explaining procedures to patients and ensuring comfort and confidence.
- Accurately maintain all required logs, records, and documentation.
- Represent the organization positively to patients, clients, and the general public.
- Adhere to confidentiality, accuracy, and process excellence standards.
- Ability to deliver error free, high quality work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal on site supervision.
- Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric draws.
- Flexible and available for staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on call shifts.
- Reliable and punctual with strong attendance standards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic certification — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
- Required for candidates in California, Nevada, and Washington
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ year of phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service environment — Preferred
- Strong keyboarding and data entry skills — Required
- Candidate must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite. Location/commute time must be listed on the resume.
- Pay rate is determined based on years of direct phlebotomy experience only (no double counting overlapping roles).
- Students must ensure school schedules do not conflict with required shift hours.
- Candidate must have reliable personal transportation (rideshare, bus, Uber, etc. are not accepted as reliable).
- Must arrive on time, work all scheduled hours, and maintain excellent attendance. Excessive tardiness or absenteeism may lead to termination.
