American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position at a Level II Trauma Center with on-call requirements and expertise in neurological and cardiovascular care.
Details- Work in the PACU of an acute care hospital setting
- Rotates to phase II PACU outpatient discharge as needed
- Patient ratio is 1:2
- Variable day shift start times with typical shifts from 9:00 am to 7:30 pm
- On-call required:
Monday-Friday 11pm-7am, weekends 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, with 4-6 night calls in 6 weeks and call approximately 1 weekend per month - Floating required to all four hospitals within the system, though travelers will have a home base
- Weekend requirement is every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- Uses SCM documentation system
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of application
- Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year recent PACU RN experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience and proficiency in neurological and cardiovascular PACU skills required
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips
- Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital for on-call duties
- Two professional references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director from the past year required
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical or religious exemptions allowed)
- Not open to first-time travelers
- Expected to provide direct patient care and assist with outpatient discharge processes in phase II PACU
- Staff must wait one year after previous employment at this health system before being considered for another contracted position
- Dress code is any solid color scrubs, matching top and bottom with no logos or prints
- Parking is free and provided with a decal at orientation
- Block scheduling requests may be considered pending manager approval
- All requested time off must be finalized and submitted at the time of application; no additional time off requests accepted after offer
- Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Team-based environment with established floating policies and holiday coverage governed by hospital policy
