Position Overview
The Physical Therapist (PT) is responsible for planning, conducting, and implementing physical therapy treatment programs based on medical referrals and evaluations. Their goal is to restore and maintain patients' well-being while adhering to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality physical therapy services according to physician orders.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
- Provide written evaluations with therapy goals, progress, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams, physicians, families, and discharge planners.
- Maintain effective communication with staff and families.
- Serve as a clinical resource and supervise other personnel as appropriate.
- Complete OASIS assessments where permitted by regulation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved program.
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapist.
- Valid CPR certification.
- Proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance.
- Completion of state-mandated Continuing Education.
- At least one year in acute care or rehabilitation settings.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
- Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- Excellent organization and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform standing, bending, kneeling, reaching.
- Must have visual and auditory acuity and strong sense of smell and touch.
- Capable of repositioning patients and moving equipment safely.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
The role involves functioning in diverse healthcare settings, with potential exposure to allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
