Part-Time Respiratory Therapist

Position Overview

We are seeking a flexible, detail-oriented Part-Time Respiratory Therapist to join our team! In this role, you will travel to patient homes, hospice facilities, and other care settings to safely set up, manage, and troubleshoot invasive and non-invasive ventilators and related respiratory equipment. This position reports directly to the Respiratory Therapy Manager and requires active participation in our rotating after-hours on-call schedule to provide critical overnight and weekend clinical support.

& Schedule
  • Schedule: Flexible schedule up to 29/hours per week during week days
  • On-Call Rotation: Must participate in our rotating after-hours on-call schedule (one week per rotation). During your on-call week, you will provide 24/7 after-hours respiratory support, handle remote troubleshooting via phone, and make urgent, in-person home or hospice visits as needed.
Education
  • Must be a graduate of AMA approved respiratory program.
  • Must have a current Respiratory Therapist license in the state of Florida.
Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Respiratory Therapy Manager.
  • Demonstrate safe equipment use and maintenance efficiently.
  • Assist customer service with clinical documentation.
  • Build relationships with physicians and case managers.
  • Travel to homes and hospice to manage ventilators.
  • Perform routine ventilator checks per guidelines.
  • Participate in a rotating one-week after-hours schedule.
  • Resolve equipment issues remotely or via home visits.
  • Document all care and calls in Brightree.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and hospice teams.
  • Complete clinical logs and regulatory paperwork accurately.
  • Assist with PAP machine setups as needed.
Qualifications
  • Communicate and work effectively with team members, patients, and healthcare professionals.
  • Know respiratory equipment lines well and stay willing to learn new technologies.
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and company policies.
  • Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude with strong customer service skills.
  • Work as a detail-oriented, computer-literate multi-tasker in fast-paced environments.
  • Understand basic healthcare funding sources including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
  • Meet physical demands including sitting or standing for extended periods.
  • Complete baseline tuberculosis screening and maintain legal Level 2 background clearance
  • Complete mandatory CEUs to keep your state respiratory license current.
