Pay: $28–$34 per hour

About the Role

Melbourne Healthcare and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The COTA will work closely with residents and the interdisciplinary care team to provide quality occupational therapy services and help residents achieve greater independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementing individualized occupational therapy treatment plans.

  • Help residents improve their ability to perform activities of daily living and regain independence.

  • Provide therapeutic activities and exercises as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

  • Monitor resident progress and communicate observations to the therapy team.

  • Support residents recovering from illness, injury, or other health conditions.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and protect resident confidentiality.

  • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote positive outcomes.

  • Follow all applicable facility, state, and professional standards.

Qualifications
  • Current Florida COTA license required.

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

  • Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred, but not required.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care.
