Health First is seeking a motivated and adaptable APP to join our Non Surgical Weight Loss Program. This opportunity offers a well balanced role supporting patient on their weight loss journey through non surgical paths, allowing you to be part of the full patient care journey.

Position Overview:

You'll play an integral role in patient care continuity, supporting patients from initial consult. This role offers an opportunity to use an innovative, patient-centered approach to weight loss management. This program will assist with non surgical weight loss programs offering weight reduction options that incorporate nutritional education and support along with physical activities and wellness.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing patients with obesity, metabolic disease, diabetes and many co-morbidities.

• Evaluate and determine appropriateness for a non surgical weight management program.

• Develop individualized, evidence based treatment plans for nutrition and dietary counseling, physical activity, behavioral and lifestyle modification, anti-obesity pharmacotherapy when appropriate.

• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory testing and diagnostic studies.

• Screen for and appropriately address conditions commonly associated with obesity, including type 2 diabetes/prediabetes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, sleep apnea, fatty liver disease, and cardiovascular risk factors.

• Recognize when patients require referral to bariatric surgery, endocrinology, nutrition, behavioral health, sleep medicine, or other specialists.

• Provide patient education regarding realistic weight-loss expectations, medication risks/benefits, nutrition, exercise, and long-term weight maintenance.

• Document assessments, treatment plans, medication changes, and follow-up appropriately in the EMR.

• Collaborate effectively with physicians, dietitians, behavioral-health providers, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary bariatric team.

Practice Structure:

• Monday to Friday schedule with clinic hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Gradual ramp up from clinic

• Patient volume building to approximately 15-20 patients per day once established

Work Experience:

• PA-C or AGACNP
• Active or be eligible for licensure by the State of Florida
• Current NCCPA Certification for PAs or ANCC certification for APRNs
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Case/Procedure logs for credentialing
