OverviewNorthrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Principal or Sr Principal Data Insight Analyst to join the DEE IPT to oversee Tableau development for the program. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL and is 100% on‑site.
The position will follow our 9/80 schedule, allowing employees who work nine‑hour days Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Essential Functions- Lead the design and development of comprehensive dashboards and reporting solutions that integrate multiple data sources.
- Perform advanced data extraction using SQL combined with robust analysis in Excel and visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
- Translate complex business requirements into actionable, visually engaging insights.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports.
- Mentor junior analysts on best practices for data extraction, analysis, and visualization.
- For Principal (level
3):
Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or related field with minimum 5 years of experience (or Master’s with minimum 3 years). - For Sr Principal (level
4):
Bachelor’s degree in Business, STEM, or related field with minimum 8 years of experience (or Master’s with minimum 6 years). - Expert‑level proficiency in leading data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Strong SQL skills for efficient data extraction and integration across diverse datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to convert complex business challenges into data‑driven insights.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
- Ability to transfer and maintain a final adjudicated U.S. government Secret clearance (must be in‑scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) within a reasonable period of time.
- Experience with cloud‑based data platforms or enterprise data warehouses (e.g., Databricks, Palantir, or Denodo).
- Exposure to advanced analytics frameworks and business intelligence best practices.
- Proven record in developing and implementing reporting best practices and data governance strategies.
- Proficiency in complementary reporting tools or programming languages (Python, R) to extend dashboard functionality.
- Strong leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Experience in executive‑level communication and strategic advisory roles for data‑driven innovations.
- US Government active Top Secret Security Clearance.
