Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Program Director 1 (Operations and Integration) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This leadership role will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

This is a leadership position with daily executive interactions, and selected candidate will display consistent impeccable judgment and embody Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels, including executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Anticipate, organize and manage the business unit VP’s strategy and enterprise needs for upcoming activities such as presentations, reports, meetings and events at the business unit, division, sector and corporate level as required

  • Gives guidance to program leadership teams. Represents the business unit VP in key meetings or events and on specific issues

  • Coordinate the review and update of financial and non-financial metrics such as monthly program reviews and other briefings/reports in support of data calls. Provides clear and concise direction to the program leadership team

  • Manage the business unit administrative and operational affairs, lead communications across the business unit, facilitate the dissemination of information, and expedite the implementation of business initiatives

  • Lead a team of cross discipline managers and professionals at various locations

  • Responsible for all aspects of training, budget, courseware developers, nominations, dashboards, and execution

  • Establish key initiatives in support of the Business Unit strategic plan

  • Manages and coordinates site-related activities in support of Melbourne, FL campus program requirements

  • Serves as liaison in support of Employee Resource Group (ERG) activities, Environmental, Safety and Health Management (ESHM) and facilities-related coordination to include Space Utilization and Requirements (SPUR) board leadership

  • Works with cross functional teams and programs in support of site-level engagement activities and initiatives

  • Provide guidance to team on resource management for the business unit, to include identifying facility requirements, managing facility/indirect projects through lifecycle, and compiling and maintaining staffing forecasts for the business unit

  • Align projected workforce levels with upcoming program milestones, budget constraints, and skill‑set requirements

  • Partner with HR, business management, functional home rooms and program leads to create resourcing plans that balance internal talent pools, contractor support, and hiring pipelines to meet short‑and long‑term needs

  • Monitor and report on staffing gaps, attrition trends, and talent acquisition metrics; provide actionable recommendations to senior leadership to mitigate risk and ensure mission continuity
