Job Summary

Dassault Falcon Jet in Melbourne, FL is seeking a full time work Purchasing and Materials Manager who will be responsible for supervising the daily operations of the Purchasing and Materials group, driving efficiency gains and collaborating with internal customers. This position will identify, implement and measure departmental goals and KPI’s. It is crucial that this person displays leadership skills, such as adaptability, proactive communication;

solutions based problem solving and professionalism.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Buyers’ and Materials employees daily work, maintains knowledge of all interfacing areas within the Company to ensure continuity of materials and paperwork flow.
  • Perform management responsibilities and recommend related actions, for example, hire/fire, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals, training and certifications, work assignments, scheduling vacation, and monitoring attendance.
  • Monitor sustaining activities, projects, and levels of customer service (e.g., performance metrics) for materials and purchasing functions and report status, issues, and risks to management on a scheduled basis.
  • Meet with vendors and carriers to negotiate contract items, for example, price, delivery, quality and quantity.
  • Administer vendor and carrier contracts to ensure provision of agreed upon service(s) and/or products(s).
  • Research/Support and resolve invoice discrepancies, errors and payment issues.
  • Review, revise, and/or develop processes and guidelines in support of materials and purchasing function
  • Review opportunities for improvement and suggest/implement same.
  • Perform special projects concerning, for example, inventory, vendor issues, and credit holds.
  • Develop the supply chain team and raise the competency level.
  • Actively participate in and support network projects.
  • Provide the necessary leadership and direction to integrate continuous improvement in all areas of the Supply Chain.
  • Communicates company goals and objectives to the staff and communicates the staff’s suggestions and concerns to management, as appropriate.
  • Prepares department capital and operating budgets, monitors and controls expenses. Develop capital requests required for budgets and implements after approval.
  • Prepare and present accurate and timely reports to management on areas of responsibility.
  • Provides leadership, guidance and support for assigned personnel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Adhere to General Work Requirements.
  • Observes company rules and regulations, including housekeeping and proper use of safety methods and the safe operation of equipment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Business Management or Supply Chain Management.
  • Seven (7) years’ experience related in Supply Chain management, preferably in aviation industry or in a similar environment.
  • Three (3) years supervisory experience and three (3) years of project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of computerized material and distribution management systems.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to create partnerships, and resolve conflict between work teams and building high quality relationships across the organization.
  • Proficiency in PC use, MS Office suite, Corridor including Outlook and Excel.
Working Conditions
  • Office and warehouse environment.
  • Occasional exposure to aircraft engine noise and fumes.
  • Limited exposure to seasonal weather.
Compensation and Benefits

The compensation for this position typically falls between $86,000 and $115,000 per year. This position is not eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for a sign on bonus or relocation assistance. Note, the final compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of relevant experience, Falcon-specific experience, relevant education/certifications, geographic location, and shift.
