The Facilities Manager leads the Planning Organization responsible for the end‑to‑end planning process of the Melbourne site. The role ensures that workspace, program requirements, and long‑range site strategies are aligned with business objectives, stakeholder needs, and regulatory standards. This role will direct the development and upkeep of seating layouts, configuration drawings, as‑built documentation, and the site master plan while providing strategic input to the organization’s long‑range planning efforts.

• Actively listens, asks clarifying questions, and adjusts messaging to align with audience needs, from individual contributors to senior leadership.

• Provides clear direction, sets priorities, and aligns team objectives with organizational goals.
• Coaches, develops, and holds team members accountable while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and high‑performance culture.
• Effectively manages workload, resolves conflicts, and supports employee growth through feedback and mentoring.

• Leads negotiations with internal stakeholders and external partners to align scope, resources, and timelines with company objectives.
• Balances cost, risk, and performance considerations to achieve win‑win outcomes and maintain productive long‑term relationships.
• Uses data‑driven arguments to secure commitments and resolve competing priorities.

• Develops and presents well‑structured planning scenarios that clearly articulate assumptions, drivers, risks, and impacts.
• Produces documentation and visualizations (e.g., timelines, capacity plans, trade studies) that enable informed decision‑making by leadership.
• Ensures scenarios are kept current as inputs or constraints change.

• Evaluates multiple alternatives using risk, cost, and schedule analysis to recommend the optimal path forward.
• Applies sound judgment under uncertainty, escalating appropriately when trade‑offs require leadership input.
• Makes timely decisions, documents rationale, and monitors outcomes to continuously improve future planning decisions.

• Must either have a bachelor’s degree and 9 years of facility related experience or; a master’s degree and 7 years of facility related experience or a PhD and 5 years of facility related experience, additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered
• Experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
• Must have at least 3 Years of experience successfully managing and leading teams which includes ability to lead and manage teams effectively, fostering collaboration and achieving organizational objectives
• Experience overseeing and guiding strategic planning for organizations
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
