The Director, Compliance at Christian Care Ministry is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company’s compliance program to ensure adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, and standards. This role also includes collaboration with the Procurement and Vendor Management functions, ensuring that all procurement activities and vendor relationships align with regulatory requirements, ethical standards and performance needs. The Director, Compliance will collaborate with Human Resources, Internal Audit, Finance and Legal teams to provide guidance and training to minimize risk of non-compliance behavior;
including the administration of internal compliance review processes and readiness for internal and external audits.
- Compliance Program Leadership:
- Collaborate with department and organization leadership to develop compliance processes and continuous compliance improvement strategies.
- Aid leadership in the creation and maintenance of compliance policies, procedures, and practices across all departments.
- Ensure the company’s compliance program is well-documented and accessible to all employees.
- Oversee budget and staffing of the compliance function; serving as a player-coach to lead high performing teams
- Regulatory Monitoring and Reporting
- Monitor changes in relevant laws and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and ministry leadership as required.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management to identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships and supply chain practices.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of vulnerability in the company’s operations, including procurement and vendor management.
- Implement corrective action plans to resolve compliance issues and mitigate risks across all functional areas.
- Advise senior leadership on potential risks and recommend proactive measures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Training and Education
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees on relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, including those related to procurement and vendor management.
- Promote a culture of compliance and ethical behavior across the organization through ongoing communication and training initiatives.
- Internal Investigations and Audits
- Conduct internal investigations into potential compliance violations or unethical conduct, at times taking the lead in said investigations and in others, partnering with appropriate departments (ex. Human Resources).
- Coordinate with internal audit teams to perform regular audits of compliance-related processes and procedures, including vendor contracts and procurement practices.
- Recommend necessary changes based on audit findings and ensure continuous improvement of compliance practices.
- Collaboration and Advisory
- Collaborate with legal, finance, human resources, and operations teams to ensure that compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions.
- Work closely with the Director of Procurement & Vendor Management to ensure that procurement activities support the company’s strategic goals and regulatory obligations.
- Ethical Leadership
- Integrity and Honesty: Demonstrates a high level of integrity and honesty in all actions and decisions. Acts as a role model for ethical behavior, ensuring that compliance and ethical standards are upheld across the organization.
