STS Technical Services is hiring Assembly Technicians in Melbourne, Florida
.

In this role, you will perform a wide range of assembly and repair tasks on electronic and mechanical components, subassemblies, and structures. From working hands-on with jigs and blueprints to inspecting finished work for FAA compliance, you’ll be part of a team that keeps production precise, efficient, and airworthy.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables
  • Work from diagrams, drawings, and layouts using hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws
  • Conduct continuity checks on work in process and completed assemblies
  • Perform quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies as needed
  • Follow approved assembly procedures for components or aircraft structures in accordance with FAA-approved documentation, OEM technical data, and work package instructions
  • Align subassemblies using jigs or fixtures and measuring instruments, following blueprint lines and index points
  • Inspect completed work for rework needs and ensure all repairs meet prescribed standards and tolerances
  • Perform serviceability tests utilizing technical manual–specified equipment
  • Complete all FAA and repair station documentation accurately
  • Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final or in-progress inspection and certification of airworthiness
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A&P and mechanical/electrical experience a plus

Experience:

  • Advanced technician-level role requiring 2-4 years of experience in assembly, mechanical, electrical, or aircraft structures
  • Demonstrated ability to use all technical data and aircraft drawings to locate part numbers and accomplish repairs
  • Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within assigned technical area

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of all possible tasks and responsibilities within assigned technical area
  • Broadly applied skills across multiple technical disciplines
  • Proficient in riveting, hardware installation, precision measurement, and hand tool use
  • Ability to fabricate parts and read work orders, blueprints, and repair specifications
  • Skilled in repairing aircraft structures according to specifications
  • Strong understanding of machines, tools, and maintenance methods
  • Proficiency with air-powered hand tools and related equipment
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and manufacturing best practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations
Working Conditions / Environment /

Special Requirements
  • Must adhere to all safety and regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, and FAA regulations
  • Ability to wear a respirator per OSHA 29 CFR  with no restrictions
  • Must be flexible with work hours and shift assignments
  • Subject to random drug and alcohol testing under FAA regulations
