Production Manager, Operations Engineer, Manufacturing Production
Role
The Production Planner will oversee and track the manufacturing build schedule to ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards. This hands‑on role requires daily coordination with teams across cut and prep, welding, assembly, and testing to maintain smooth workflow and resolve scheduling or material issues as they arise. The planner will work closely with production, engineering, and management to align priorities, anticipate bottlenecks, and keep stakeholders informed of schedule changes and progress.
Responsibilities- Monitor and update the master production schedule based on job priorities, progress, and resource availability.
- Work directly on the shop floor to track build status across cut & prep, welding, assembly, and testing departments.
- Identify and address scheduling conflicts or production delays, escalating issues as necessary.
- Collaborate with department leaders to forecast workload and balance staffing or material needs.
- Maintain accurate records of work orders, production milestones, and completion dates.
- Communicate schedule changes and progress updates to management and project teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on scheduling accuracy and production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company safety protocols and manufacturing procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant education and hands‑on production planning experience.
- 3 years of experience in production planning, manufacturing coordination, or a related operations role.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work on the shop floor and collaborate closely with production personnel.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey priorities and expectations.
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production environment.
- Certification(s) in planning, inventory, and/or production management.
- Familiarity with production scheduling tools, ERP/MRP systems, or digital work order management.
- Demonstrated experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
$60,000 – 85,000 based on experience
