Production Manager – Aircraft Paint Operations About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead high-end aircraft paint operations for VIP and business jet programs in Melbourne, FL. In this role, you’ll oversee daily production flow across multiple shifts, ensuring premium-quality finishes, on-time delivery, and exceptional customer satisfaction. Responsibilities- Oversee all phases of aircraft painting operations for corporate and VIP aircraft programs.
- Manage production schedules and workflow to meet delivery deadlines while maintaining quality and compliance standards.
- Lead and support teams of painters, prep technicians, and detail specialists across multiple shifts.
- Ensure adherence to FAA regulations, company procedures, and customer-specific requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments to execute custom paint schemes and livery projects.
- Monitor quality assurance processes, including paint thickness measurements and surface finish inspections.
- Drive operational improvements focused on productivity, turnaround time, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, materials, and completed work for traceability and compliance.
- Uphold professionalism and confidentiality when working with VIP clients and proprietary aircraft designs.
- Ensure all tools, equipment, and facilities meet safety and environmental standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of aircraft painting experience, preferably with business, corporate, or VIP jets.
- 2+ years of leadership or production management experience within aviation or aerospace.
- Strong knowledge of aircraft coating systems, custom paint applications, and high-gloss finishing techniques.
- Familiarity with FAA regulations and industry best practices for aircraft presentation.
- Proven ability to lead teams in deadline-driven environments while maintaining strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and production planning systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
