Role Description The CNC Machinist Setup/Programmer is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, FL. Day-to-day responsibilities include setting up and operating CNC lathes, creating and adjusting CNC programs, and selecting tools, fixtures, and materials for each job. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, verifying dimensions, and making process adjustments to maintain tight tolerances. The CNC Machinist Setup/Programmer will perform in-process inspections, monitor machine performance, and troubleshoot machining issues to ensure consistent quality and throughput.

Collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams is expected to optimize setups, reduce downtime, and improve overall efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Machine Operation and Machinery, including setup, safe operation, and basic maintenance of CNC equipment
  • Proficiency in Machining and Mill-turn, with experience working to tight tolerances and handling complex geometries
  • Experience with Quality Control practices, including measurement, inspection tools, and documenting results
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
  • Hands-on experience with CNC lathes (We run Doosan, Haas and Okuma) and programming is highly beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and follow safety procedures
  • Previous experience in precision manufacturing or related machining environment preferred
