Suntree UMC is a theologically grounded, culturally open congregation on Florida’s Space Coast. We take our Wesleyan roots seriously and hold them with open hands. Our youth ministry has a strong foundation — a committed core of students, seasoned adult leaders, and a church that puts youth at the center of its life and mission. We’re not looking for someone with everything figured out — we’re looking for someone called, hungry, and ready to build something lasting with a congregation that will be in their corner.
Key ResponsibilitiesSpiritual Leadership:
- Cast vision and provide pastoral care for middle and high school students and their families
- Teach biblically grounded, engaging messages that connect faith to everyday life
- Ensure youth are meaningfully integrated into the worshiping and serving life of the church
Program & Outreach:
- Plan and lead weekly gatherings, small groups, retreats, special events, and mission opportunities
- Build on a strong missions culture and develop new connections with local schools and the broader community
Volunteer & Administration:
- Recruit, equip, and support a team of adult leaders who invest relationally in students
- Lead and support youth missions fundraising within a congregation with a well-developed culture of generosity
- Manage ministry planning, budget stewardship, communications, and safe church compliance
- Starting salary: $55,000; additional compensation considered based on experience or advanced degrees
- Full-time with regular Sunday and evening responsibilities
- Target start date:
August 3, 2026 or earlier! Open to summer transition to participate in youth summer missions.
Are you looking to take the next step in your ministry career? We’re looking for someone who is clearly called, relationally gifted, and ready to grow into this role with a community behind them.
- Personal, growing Christian faith with a clear calling to youth ministry
- Minimum 5 years of experience in youth ministry or a closely related context
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees welcomed
- Alignment with Wesleyan theology and the United Methodist tradition
- Strong relational, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience leading volunteers or staff with clear direction and accountability
- Ability to pass background checks and complete all safe church training
