Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring prior EPIC experience, active FL or compact license, and the ability to work nights and float as needed.
Responsibilities- Position is in a hospital PCU setting
- Care for adult progressive care patient population with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
- EPIC EMR experience is required and utilized daily
- Float required to other units or locations within the health system as needed
- Night shift position (3x12 hour shifts, 18:45–07:15)
- Weekend shifts required: every other weekend or 6 shifts per 6-week period as determined by unit needs
- No on-call responsibilities
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
- Local and travel candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Must be able to float to other units or facilities within the health system as needed
- Holiday and weekend coverage required as assigned
- Free parking provided with decal at orientation
- Scrubs must be any one solid color (no logos or prints and tops/bottoms must match)
- Annual and orientation modules must be completed via facility LMS
- Kronos used for timekeeping with badge swipe system
- Travel pairs may be considered depending on unit approval but same schedule is not guaranteed
- Staff, employees, or previous contracted travelers must wait at least 1 year after leaving the health system before being eligible for another contract
- All time off requests must be submitted during the initial application and will be considered during interview scheduling
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- EPIC EMR experience required
- Must provide 2 professional references from authority figures within the last year
- First-time travelers are not accepted
- Pending licenses not accepted; active license must be in hand
- Flu vaccine required during flu season with allowed medical or religious exemptions
