Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring a current FL or compact RN license and proficiency with Epic EMR.
Responsibilities- Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role with a patient ratio of 1:5
- Work schedule is night shift, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 07:15
- Required to work every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period, determined by unit needs
- Travelers will have a home base but may float to other units and locations within the Health First system
- Special procedures include managing Heparin and Cardizem drips at a straight rate
- Epic EMR is used and prior Epic experience is required
- No on-call requirement
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
- Duties include providing advanced monitoring and care for progressive care patients and administering specialized IV drips
- Team-oriented environment with floating expected between designated hospital sites
- Orientation includes completion of facility modules through the LMS system
- Timekeeping is managed through Kronos with badge swipe
- Free parking is provided with a decal issued at orientation
- Dress code requires scrubs of any solid color, no mixing colors, logos, or prints
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Holiday and time-off requests must be submitted during the initial consideration, and cannot be changed after the interview
- Travel pairs are accepted but schedule alignment is not guaranteed
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum of 1 year recent PCU or similar acute care experience
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Prior experience with Epic EMR required
- Two recent references from a manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director within the last year
- Must be available for lab work within 72 hours of offer
- Annual flu vaccination required between 10/31-3/31 with limited exemptions
- Applicants must not have worked an internal contracted position at Health First within the past year
- Candidates must not have attended educational institutions specified by the employer
