Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring an active FL or compact RN license and Epic charting experience.
Responsibilities- Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Night shifts with 3x12 hour schedule, 18:45-07:15
- Every other weekend or equivalent weekend shifts required, based on unit needs
- Floating required to other units or locations within the system
- Epic EMR experience required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
- Responsibilities include providing patient care to progressive care unit patients in a hospital setting
- Team may include staff nurses and support from ancillary departments
- Must wear scrubs of any solid color (matching tops and bottoms, no logos or prints)
- Free parking provided with decal issued during orientation
- Orientation includes required modules completed on the facility’s LMS, plus annual module requirements
- Labs must be completed within 72 hours of signing the contract
- Work schedule is subject to unit needs, with block scheduling not guaranteed
- All requested time off must be disclosed prior to interview; schedule is based on approved RTO
- Travel pairs may be accepted if approved by unit leadership, but identical schedules are not guaranteed
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this assignment
- Active FL or compact RN license required at time of consideration
- Minimum 1 year of recent PCU or relevant progressive care experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- At least 2 professional references from authority figures (manager, supervisor, charge nurse, or director) from the past year
- Flu vaccine required during 10/31–3/31 season, with medical or religious exemptions only
- No pending licenses accepted; license must be active at submission
- Must not have been employed in an internal contracted position at the facility within the past 12 months
