Overview

Devereux Florida is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work with behavioral adolescents living on-site during treatment in Viera, FL. The role involves providing medications, ensuring regular medical checkups, updating medical files, maintaining open communication with clients’ families and medical staff (doctors, therapists, other nurses), and supporting a therapeutic environment while ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals served.

• Administer prescribed medications and monitor for effects and side effects.
• Coordinate regular medical checkups and maintain accurate medical records.
• Communicate medical information with clients’ families and the treatment team (doctors, therapists, other nurses).
• Support a therapeutic environment and ensure safety and well-being of clients.

• Salary:
  Starts at $23.00 - $26.22 per hour (rate increases based on education and relevant experience).
• Schedule:
  
  Full-time; flexible schedules available.
  • 8-hour shifts (7:00 am – 3:00 pm), 5 days a week
  • 12-hour shifts (7:00 am – 7:00 pm), 3 days a week
  • Must be available for one weekend shift per week

• Education:
  
  Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Degree:
  Associate’s Degree or Diploma required
• Board certification:
  Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Florida
• Other requirements:
  • Must complete a two-week new hire orientation class (Mon–Fri, ~9:00 am–5:00 pm) in Titusville, FL
  • Two years of nursing experience or related experience with DJJ, IDD, or psychiatric population in a group home or residential facility preferred
  • Valid Florida driver’s license
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Successfully pass pre-employment medical screenings (drug test, physical, TB test)
  • Proficient in nursing assessment skills and basic software programs
  • Successfully pass a Level 2 background screening with the State of Florida
