Assistant Nurse Manager
The Assistant Nurse Manager plans, directs and assesses all unit functions to include evaluation of patient care on a twenty-four (24)-hour basis on an assigned unit. The Assistant Nurse Manager participates in the development and implementation of Health First policies and objectives, scheduling and assignment of personnel, and quality improvement activities. The Assistant Nurse Manager at all times serves as clinical and professional role model to staff and contributes to their professional growth and development.
Performs those clinical skills within the scope of practice for which competencies have been validated, ensuring patient and staff safety on the assigned unit, and Contributes to the patient experience to cultivate positive patient satisfaction scores and HCAHP scores for department.Ensures consistent performance of purposeful hourly rounding and bedside shift report; providing support to patient care activities by utilizing nursing processes through the documentation of process and discharge planning.Provides adequate training and appropriate use of the electronic medical record in compliance with established policies, procedures, and expectations.Schedules and assigns personnel on assigned shift to ensure safe, adequate, and appropriate staffing for the unit, ensuring completion in a timely manner and in compliance with the approved unit staffing plan based on patient needs and acuity.Assists with implementation of unit based performance improvement activities resulting in improved operations and patient care outcomes.Participates in the development of policies, procedures, and standards of care for the unit, while implementing and verifying compliance with policies and procedures.Completes assigned audits and monitors accurately and in a timely manner.Identifies opportunities for quality improvement activities on the unit, reporting Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) results to departmental director and shares with associates.Verifies and maintains compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and other organizational and regulatory agency standards with quality indicators and core measures.Facilitates communication and problem solving with team members, physicians, and administrative personnel.Documents attendance at clinical and management continuing education programs (CEUs) to ensure that knowledge base is current and to promote professional growth and development. Acquires certification in clinical specialty.Define and communicate a clear, compelling vision for the team that effectively ties into the mission and vision of Health First, and inspirationally lead the team to achieve that vision.
Provide leadership, motivation, coaching, feedback and support to foster and strengthen growth and development of an effective, high performing team.
Lead change through effective communication, explaining the connection and value to the organization, creating stronger buy-in and urgency, while understanding impact to the team to obtain commitment.

Education:
Any one of the following:
Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) ORInternal applicants may be able to receive limited waiver on education requirement if expected to complete BSN program within three (3) of start date ORExternal applicants may apply if currently enrolled and expected to complete a BSN program within two (2) years of start date.Work Experience:
Two (2) years experience in acute care clinical environments.
Licensure:
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Florida or endorsement.
Certification:
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.Additional certifications to meet unit specific care requirements.Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Must have knowledge of TJC (The Joint Commission), Florida Nurse Practice Act and other applicable agency regulations.Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.Sound organizational skills to include time management and problem-solvingHighly developed communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.Maintains professional competencies by attending continuing education programs and participates in professional organizations.Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.Preferred Qualifications:
