Job Summary
PM Pediatric Care is the largest pediatric urgent care network in the country, founded by Pediatric Emergency Physicians to provide a high‑quality, convenient alternative to the emergency department. The organization offers on‑site X‑ray and laboratory services, specialty consultation support, and a diverse high‑acuity case mix within a private practice setting.
Responsibilities- Evaluate and provide evidence‑based treatment to pediatric patients in an urgent care setting, both in‑person and via telemedicine.
- Manage acute injuries and illnesses such as febrile infants/children, ear/nose/throat infections, abdominal pain, anaphylaxis, respiratory distress, croup, and asthma.
- Perform common urgent‑care procedures, including abscess drainage, foreign body removal, and laceration repair (sutures, staples, dermal adhesive).
- Obtain and preliminarily interpret radiographs with radiologist over‑reads (where applicable).
- Oversee daily operations and patient flow for in‑person and telemedicine visits, supervising other providers, staff, and trainees on shift.
- Ensure efficient operations by adhering to established policies, reporting changes to management, and collaborating with on‑site and telemedicine teams on lab and radiology result review, patient follow‑up, and timely response to patient inquiries.
- Promote a safe, secure, equitable, and healthy work environment by enforcing safety protocols, upholding quality standards, and ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through internal training, continuing education, publications, and professional organization participation.
- Assist staff and patients with complaints and participate in service recovery efforts.
- Focus on efficiency metrics to improve flow, antibiotic stewardship, and patient experience.
- Active ANCC Board Certification or NCCPA Certification.
- Active RN (if applicable) and NP/PA state license in each state where patients are treated.
- Master of Science in Nursing, Doctoral degree in Nursing, or Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
- Minimum 2 years of independent pediatric clinical experience as an APP (or at least 1 year in urgent care or emergency medicine).
- Pediatric experience required;
Pediatric ER, General Pediatrics, or Urgent Care Experience preferred. - Excellent computer skills and experience with EMR (eCW preferred).
- Ability to think critically, multitask, and collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
$65 – $100 per hour, depending on experience and location.
