Animal Specialty & Emergency Center of Brevard (ASEC) is a well-established 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital serving Brevard County and the surrounding region. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll join a growing specialty team that includes a Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Surgery, a board-certified Veterinary Dentist, experienced Emergency Clinicians, a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist, and an experienced support staff committed to helping specialists practice at the highest level.

Our hospital is equipped with advanced technology and diagnostics, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy/thoracoscopy, arthroscopy, electrodiagnostics, ventilatory support, advanced rehabilitation services, and a full in-house laboratory. Surgical resources include three dedicated surgical suites, a Stryker arthroscopy tower, Synthes battery drive system, TPLO equipment, and a comprehensive selection of orthopedic implants.

In your day‑to‑day, you will:
  • Balance time between consultations, case workups, and surgical procedures.
  • Perform orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries using available imaging and surgical equipment.
  • Collaborate with other specialties to support integrated case management.
  • Help shape and grow the surgical service in line with hospital priorities.
  • Work alongside a dedicated surgical nursing and support team.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic technologies, including MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy, and electrodiagnostics, to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Utilize advanced rehabilitation services to support patient recovery and optimize surgical outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners throughout the diagnostic, surgical, and recovery process.
  • Build strong relationships with referring veterinarians and contribute to continuity of care for referred patients.
  • Engage in ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  • Contribute to a positive, team‑focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
  • Board Certification in Surgery or Residency Trained in Surgery.
  • Strong surgical skills and an interest in providing advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgical care.
  • Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client‑centered approach.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
  • A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
