Part-Time Recreation Assistant

Performs entry-level paraprofessional work conducting games, special events, arts and crafts, and other group activities at a County recreation area.

$16.13 to $17.74 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. South Area/Viera Regional Community Center. Part-time/up to 20 hours per week. Work schedule is variable and includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Some experience, paid or volunteer, in leisure activities or working with children is required. Experience working with computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite and Vermont Systems Rec-Trac is preferred.

Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration for the position if a Level I background criminal background investigation discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
