Job Summary
Position:
Inspection Technician (Onsite)
Location:
1100 W Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, FL (Building 311)
Shift: Weekend shift – Friday, Saturday, Sunday 6:00am to 6:00pm
Responsibilities- Apply predetermined methods, operations, and specifications to inspect in‑process and final products for compliance with engineering and quality specifications.
- Use computer systems, statistical control processes, and precision measuring devices to perform dimensional and visual inspections.
- Inspect products on the shop floor and in‑line, raising non‑conformance notifications and quarantining non‑conforming items.
- When authorized, release scrap or standard rework dispositions.
- Read parts, tools, gauges, and related equipment drawings to determine measurement requirements.
- Use fixed or variable measuring instruments to check dimensions and record results; perform simple math to determine pass/fail status.
- Follow proper inspection procedures, verifying dimensions and ensuring work instructions are followed.
- Identify and arrange repair or calibration of measuring equipment as needed.
- Support continuous‑improvement initiatives to meet business objectives.
- Maintain and display an inspection stamp on appropriate documentation.
- Manage multiple competing priorities and maintain workflow, including shift flexibility and overtime when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED) or relevant vocational/technical education.
- Minimum of one (1) year of relevant inspection experience in a production environment.
- Basic blueprint reading ability.
- Familiarity with precision measuring equipment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic shop math competency.
