Position Overview
This position is responsible for providing quality objectives for the business unit in accordance with RTX quality policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable contractual requirements. The individual must work within cross‑functional teams to meet and improve upon established quality and delivery goals. The role serves as the focal point for quality issues and is responsible for continuing to develop and improve processes associated with compliance to Collins Aerospace Quality Standards.
Functional area
s include Quality Assurance, Quality System Validation, Supply Chain Quality Assurance, and Material Verification.
- Perform preliminary review and Material Review Board analysis of First Article Inspection Reports and disposition of nonconforming material.
- Evaluate Collins Aerospace or supplier products and processes.
- Analyze root causes of deficiencies and ensure proper corrective actions are implemented in a timely manner.
- Apply quality standards for receiving, in-process, and final inspection in accordance with Collins Aerospace and contractual requirements.
- Provide support to manufacturing operations in the review of products, engineering, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a working relationship with key customer procurement organizations to benefit the customer and Collins Aerospace.
- Maintain quality data records, compile information, and prepare reports for internal and external customers.
- Perform duties required by the Quality Management System.
- University degree or equivalent experience and minimum five years of relevant experience, or advanced degree and minimum three years of experience.
- U.S. Person / Permanent Resident ("Green Card") holder.
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Flexible work schedule; may be required to work on off‑hours and weekends.
- Reading and interpretation of engineering drawings including dimension, tolerance, and basic GD&T symbology.
- Commitment to a positive culture and timely completion of work.
- Understanding of industry specifications and standards interpretation.
- Experience with inspection methods and techniques.
- Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives, Six Sigma, lean, 5S.
- Familiarity with PDCA, AS9102, and First Article Inspection processes.
- Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
- Analytical, coordinating, informational, listening, relationship, writing, speaking, strategic thinking, organizational, and initiative skills.
