Research Scientist
The Proteasome Regulation and Drug Discovery Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Science is seeking a highly motivated and independent Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team.
Key Responsibilities- Design, execute, and analyze experiments using advanced imaging platforms (e.g., confocal microscopy, electron microscopy, fluorescence imaging, and atomic force microscopy).
- Perform and optimize yeast cell culture for drug screening.
- Develop and apply enzymatic activity‑based assays to study drug function.
- Analyze and interpret imaging data using appropriate software and quantitative methods.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and report results weekly.
- Prepare manuscripts, figures, and presentations for publication and conferences.
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in experimental design and laboratory techniques.
- Ensure compliance with institutional safety and regulatory guidelines.
- Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in advanced microscopy techniques (e.g., confocal, electron, AFM, or live‑cell imaging).
- Proven track record of peer‑reviewed publications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
