Parks Repair Technician

$18.21 hourly. Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area. Variable schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Performs experienced service maintenance work in routine maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, and mechanical equipment. May assist skilled crafts and trades workers and direct Parks Maintenance Technicians. Unlike skilled trades workers, this role is not exclusively in one crafts or trades area and not at the skilled level.

• Two (2) years of experience in grounds maintenance, building maintenance, and mechanical or equipment repair and maintenance. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

• Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain it during the term of employment.
• All candidates selected for an interview must successfully pass a practical skills evaluation in order to move to the next step of the selection process.
• Must successfully complete, within nine (9) months of employment, all classes for the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees.
• The applicant will be disqualified from further consideration if a Level I background criminal background investigation discloses the applicant has disqualifying convictions (as defined in AO-5).
• In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
