Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Maintenance Mechanic 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be on site in Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels. Candidate must be comfortable working in a professional environment, and be able to collaborate closely with engineers, designers, administrative professionals, and management.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- moving, assembling, modifying modular and fixed office furniture, including sit-stand ergonomic setups
- working requests that may fall outside given trade, to include helping with plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting, fire systems, grounds, escorting, etc.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED
- Must have the flexibility to occasionally work off shifts and weekends when required. Position may be flexed to second shift
- Basic understanding of electricity, plumbing and general mechanical aptitude
- Valid Florida Driver's license with the ability to safely operate large box truck weighing 10,001 – 26,000 lbs.
- Must have experience working with computers to receive and close-out work orders, operate in Outlook, Teams, Share Point
- Must be capable of lifting 50+lbs, climbing a ladder, reaching overhead, bending down, full use of both hands, withstanding extreme temperature and/or humidity
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the final adjudicated U.S. Government Top-Secret Clearance and Program Accesses required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company
