Engineer Software will support the Global Surveillance Division in Melbourne, Florida, working on revolutionary systems that impact lives worldwide. The role involves deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving systems and software infrastructure and requires hands‑on technical experience and a can‑do approach.
- Deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the systems and software infrastructure.
- Designing and implementing application builds, releases, deployment, and configuration activities.
- Working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, and architecting complex solutions.
- Performing quality reviews, triaging, and fixing operational issues.
- Assisting with integration, troubleshooting, and testing of implemented software changes.
- Taking ownership of ambiguous hard problems and driving solutions in a team environment.
- Understanding the software development life cycle and applying automated testing in large data sets.
- Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
- Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex difficult problems that are imaginative, thorough, practicable, and consistent with program objectives.
- In depth understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field listed under the basic qualifications.
- Design, develop, document, test and debug application software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research when needed and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems.
- Work with various team members to integrate functionality with other software components.
- Able to work independently and identify solutions to complex problems.
- Represent the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects; interact with senior external personnel on significant technical matters requiring coordination between organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and 2+ years of experience in software engineering, or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 0+ years of experience.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented programming languages (including C/C++).
- Experience developing and debugging software on Linux and Windows, both desktop and target environments.
- Willingness to work off-peak hours for short-term surge support to meet program milestones.
- Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance and special program access.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite (Git, Confluence).
- Experience with C/C++ desktop application development.
- Experience with multithreaded application development.
- Familiarity with the Agile software development process.
- Full software development life cycle experience.
- Experience with DOORS and/or Cameo UML Modeling tools.
- Experience with formal software test and weapons system evaluations.
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience developing software within the SELinux environment.
- Comfort with Agile development tools such as Git Lab suite.
- Proficient in creating and maintaining comprehensive software documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
- U.S. citizen with a current in-scope DoD secret or higher clearance.
- Holder of a special program access.
Primary level salary range: $79,300.00 - $. Overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus and long‑term incentives may be available, along with health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation or personal business.
