Principal Engineer Software or Senior Principal Engineer Software to support the Global Surveillance Division. The program technologies include the full software lifecycle and advanced missions support in tactical applications for the warfighter. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

• Deploy, automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the systems and software infrastructure.
• Design and implement application builds, releases, and deployments with configuration activities.
• Work in an agile development process and collaborate with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototype, and architect complex solutions.
• Perform quality reviews, triage, and fix operational issues; assist with integration, troubleshooting, and testing of implemented software changes.

• Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
• Integrate functionality with other software components.
• Gather and report software metrics.
• Follow program software best practices.
• Develop software products within all phases of the software lifecycle.

• Principal Engineer: bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
• Senior Principal Engineer: bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 8 years of experience in software engineering.
• Minimum 5/8 years of experience developing with C/C++ or other OOP languages.
• Minimum 5/8 years of experience in software lifecycle within a Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, or other) or Windows environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance. Interim DoD secret required to start.
• Ability to obtain and maintain special program access.

• 8+ years’ experience developing software and software tests within the Linux environment.
• Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite, Git, and Confluence.
• Familiarity with Agile software development process.
• Full software development life cycle experience.
• Experience with formal software test and weapon system evaluations.
• U.S. citizen with a current in-scope DoD secret or higher clearance.
• Holder of special program access.

Base pay may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions.
