ResponsibilitiesThe Engineer Software will deploy, automate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve systems and software infrastructure. The role requires hands‑on technical experience and a can‑do approach to environment automation and management, along with continuous improvements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implementation of application builds, releases, and deployment, including configuration activities.
- Working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototype, and architect complex solutions.
- Participation in the full software development life cycle: requirements, modeling, design, application development, unit testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance.
- Triaging and fixing operational issues, and testing of implemented software changes.
- Providing technical solutions for complex problems and leading implementation efforts.
- Collaborating with Program Management, external suppliers, and/or government customers.
- Full lifecycle design, implementation, and unit testing of software.
- Extensive technical expertise and clear communication of technical approaches.
- Providing imaginative, thorough, and practicable solutions to complex problems.
- In-depth understanding of technical principles and concepts in the relevant field.
- Design, development, documentation, testing, and debugging of applications and systems with logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with hardware engineers on electronic data processing systems.
- Integrating functionality with other software components.
- Identifying and solving complex problems independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 2 years of software engineering experience, or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and at least 0 years of experience.
- Requirement for a DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special Access.
- Solid experience with object‑oriented programming languages, including C/C++.
- Experience developing and debugging software on Linux and Windows in both desktop and target environments.
- Willingness to work off‑peak hours for short‑term surge support to meet program milestones.
- Familiarity with the Atlassian suite including Git and Confluence.
- Experience with C/C++ desktop and multithreaded application development.
- Familiarity with Agile software development processes.
- Full software development life cycle experience.
- Experience with DOORS and/or Cameo UML modeling tools.
- Experience with formal software testing and Weapon System evaluations.
- Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5+ years of software development experience.
- Experience developing software within SELinux environments.
- Proficiency with Git Lab and version control systems.
- Experience with Rhapsody and/or Cameo UML modeling tools.
- Proficient in creating and maintaining comprehensive software documentation.
- U.S. citizenship with a current DoD Secret or higher clearance.
- Current holder of a Special Program Access.
