Engineering Manager (Software) – USA Defence Simulation Team

We are looking for an Engineering Manager (player–coach) to lead our USA‑based software development team working on governmental and military simulation products
.

The role focuses on people leadership, technical excellence, and predictable delivery
, while working in close alignment with EU R&D and Product Management
, who lead product direction and architecture.

• Lead the USA software development (R&D) team
  .
• Combine people management with hands‑on technical leadership
  .
• Improve delivery stability, planning predictability, and team health
  .
• Work closely with Product Owner, Program Manager, and EU teams
  .

• Lead and manage the software development team (R&D).
• Create and maintain a healthy, productive, and sustainable working environment
  .
• Support hiring, onboarding, and team stabilisation
  .
• Coach and develop team members (performance, growth, skills).
• Contribute technically:
  • Architecture and design decisions
  • Code reviews
  • Technical guidance and selective hands‑on development
• Sprint commitments
• Program Increment (PI) objectives
• Contractual requirements
• Protect developer focus and improve planning predictability
  .
• Ensure engineering quality, technical standards, and documentation.
• Ensure alignment with EU R&D and Product Management
  .

• Strong background in software development (C++ or similar).
• Experience leading software engineers.
• Experience working in agile / SAFe environments
  .
• Experience with defence, government, or regulated software is a strong plus.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• US Citizen or US Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).
• Ability to work on US governmental / military contracts
  .
• Ability to obtain and maintain required access (e.g.,
  CAC
  ), if applicable.

• Stable and predictable delivery.
• Clear collaboration between Engineering, Product, and Program.
• Motivated, healthy, and focused development team.
• Strong alignment with EU R&D and Product Management
