Senior Principal Engineer Software (Dev Ops Engineer)

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a senior‑level Dev Ops Engineer to support data flow between software products and enable seamless integration across systems. The position is located in Melbourne, FL.

• Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
• Determine system use needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and control.
• Design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
• Ensure software standards are met.
• Obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

• Ensure seamless data flow between various software tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand integration requirements.
• Maintain and enhance existing integrations to improve performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
• Document integration processes and provide training to team members.
• Explore tool APIs such as Atlassian tools, Cameo, and Ansys simulation tools.
• Position is contingent upon the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance; interim clearance may be acceptable.

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 5 or more years, or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of APIs and data exchange protocols.
• Experience in C/C++, Python, and other object‑oriented programming languages.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing software tool integrations using APIs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance (interim clearance required to start).
• Jenkins administrative experience.

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of networking and security principles.
• Experience integrating software and hardware.
• Active, in‑scope DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.

Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $. Base pay may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and in some positions long‑term incentives.
