Senior Principal Engineer Software (Dev Ops Engineer)
Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a senior‑level Dev Ops Engineer to support data flow between software products and enable seamless integration across systems. The position is located in Melbourne, FL.

- Design, develop, document, test, and debug applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine system use needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and control.
- Design and develop compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
- Ensure software standards are met.
- Obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.
- Ensure seamless data flow between various software tools.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand integration requirements.
- Maintain and enhance existing integrations to improve performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues in a timely manner.
- Document integration processes and provide training to team members.
- Explore tool APIs such as Atlassian tools, Cameo, and Ansys simulation tools.
- Position is contingent upon the ability to obtain a DoD Top Secret Clearance; interim clearance may be acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 5 or more years, or PhD with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of APIs and data exchange protocols.
- Experience in C/C++, Python, and other object‑oriented programming languages.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, and implementing software tool integrations using APIs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Top Secret clearance (interim clearance required to start).
- Jenkins administrative experience.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong understanding of networking and security principles.
- Experience integrating software and hardware.
- Active, in‑scope DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $. Base pay may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and in some positions long‑term incentives.
