Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an Engineer Software – Embedded & Real Time in Melbourne, FL, to design, develop, integrate, and test software for end‑user customers. The role focuses on embedded and real‑time systems and is performed in an Agile environment.

• Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded real‑time software for safety‑critical flight and system applications.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle (requirements, design, implementation, qualification, delivery).
• Operate in an embedded environment using real‑time operating systems such as VxWorks, Integrity or Real‑time Embedded Linux.
• Work in Agile Scrum teams to deliver products across multiple software baselines.
• Analyze system capabilities to resolve problems related to program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Test Automation, Dev Sec Ops  and Systems Test teams.

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with at least 2 years of related experience, or a Master's degree with no experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing software and scripts in C, object‑oriented C++ and/or Python for safety‑critical applications within the past 2 years.
• Experience architecting, designing, modeling, implementing, maintaining, integrating, debugging, verifying, and qualifying safety‑critical embedded real‑time software in OOP C++ on real‑time operating systems within the past year.
• Experience with static and dynamic code analysis tools and fuzzing tools such as Coverity, Sonar Qube, or Fortify within the past year.
• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (PAR) clearance.

• Ability to collaborate with systems engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers on complex software systems.
• Recent experience with DOORS or software requirement specification testing using simulators and automated scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB, JavaScript, or Bash.

Primary salary range: $79,300 to $118,900 annually. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, a savings plan, company‑paid holidays, and paid time off for vacation.
