Salary Range: $24.00 To $25.00 Annually

General Summary

Transport company goods and raw materials on truck or trailer with a gross combination weight rating (GCWR) exceeding 26,000 lbs.

Essential Job Functions

• Transport company goods and raw materials over land to and from distribution center, branches and suppliers all throughout Florida.
• Ensure goods are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage of material.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and coordinate preventive maintenance.
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
• Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
• Manually or systematically document and log work/rest periods as well as mileage spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts.
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
• Safely maneuver trucks into loading or unloading position.
• Collect and verify delivery instructions before moving any load.

Requirements

• Valid CDL Class A truck driving license.
• 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferred.
• Able to operate electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.
• Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
