In this role, the radiographer performs diagnostic imaging procedures at a technical level not requiring supervision at a surgical or direct level of care. Performs technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and innovative application of prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis.
Responsibilities- Provides assistance to the radiologist during radiographic procedures to expedite patient care and quality of life. Assesses, plans, provides intervention, and evaluates care for each patient based on their ages to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Serves as a mentor to junior staff members and assists with training as requested.
- Prepares equipment and supplies necessary for radiographic procedures and performs daily tasks to ensure patient safety.
- Associate’s Degree required.
- Specific Degree(s): AAS in Radiologic Technology.
- Obtain certification within 3 months of hire.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- Illinois Emergency Management Agency Certification (IEMA)
- CPR from American Heart Association
- Registered Radiographic Technologist
- Note:
For applicants certified by ARRT prior to 2015, no associate degree is required. For those certified thereafter or not certified, an associate degree is required due to the change in ARRT’s Certification Requirements.

Pay Range$30.00 - $46.00 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
