We’re looking for a dedicated nurse to join our team, working one 12‑hour day shift every two weeks (7:00 am – 7:00 pm). This is a part‑time position that offers flexibility and work‑life balance.

The Nursing Supervisor collaborates with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and serves as a resource to the Nursing staff. Continued competence in nursing practice, flexibility for staffing as demanded by hospital needs, and understanding of patient population needs are required.
Collaborates with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing during assigned shift. Serves as a liaison between nursing and other departments. Provides consultation to Nurse Managers on administrative issues. Confers with Nursing staff, individually, as patient or staff needs may dictate. Confers with Hospital Administrator, on‑call, about patient, family, physician, staff, and community problems when necessary. Evaluates Nursing care activities of each unit throughout the shift.
Demonstrates ability to resolve the complexities of bed allocation.
Addresses complex patient care situations daily. Refers staff to clinical resources as appropriate. Fosters nursing care practices consistent with the philosophy, standards, and policies of the Loyola University Health System. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria appropriate to the age of the patient population served.
Recognizes own need for continuing education. Evaluates progress of orienting staff in conjunction with Education Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Specialist. Makes recommendation regarding continuing education needs. Works supportively with students and instructors from affiliated institutions.
Promotes changes in nursing care practices as necessary. Participates in formal evaluations of nursing care delivery or any aspect thereof. Encourages the use of a scientific, problem‑solving approach to patient‑care problems. Participates in updating technology within nursing. Consults with professionals in the Professional Development department regarding development and revision of Nursing Department protocol and standards as needed.
Follows hospital‑wide and departmental safety policies and recommendations from the Environment of Care Committee. Follows hospital‑wide and departmental infection control policies and recommendations from Infection Control. Practices safe and effective use of equipment.
Consistently displays appropriate customer relations behavior as dictated by the Customer Service Program. Participates in performance improvement activities and follows recommendations made by teams.
Position Requirements- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum Experience: 3‑5 years of nursing experience (6‑10 years preferred). Minimum of three years hospital nursing experience. Managerial experience: 1‑2 years as charge nurse or nursing supervisor.
- Licensure/
Certifications:
ACLS, CPR, Current Registered Nurse License in State of Illinois. Preferred: PALS. CPI training highly desirable.
Pay Range: $35.89 – $62.91 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification, and comparison to similar roles.
