Shift: Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), two 12‑hour nights every two weeks.

The Nursing Supervisor collaborates with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing and serves as a resource to the nursing staff. They maintain competence in nursing practice, demonstrate flexibility for staffing as hospital needs demand, and possess knowledge of growth and development to meet the age‑related needs of the patient populations served.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with unit leadership to ensure appropriate staffing during assigned shift.
- Serving as a liaison between nursing and other departments.
- Providing consultation to Nurse Managers on administrative issues.
- Conferring with nursing staff and the Hospital Administrator on patient, family, physician, staff, and community problems as necessary.
- Evaluating nursing care activities throughout the shift and resolving bed allocation complexities.
- Addressing complex patient care situations daily, referring staff to clinical resources, and fostering nursing care practices aligned with the system’s philosophy, standards, and policies.
- Recognizing the need for continuing education and evaluating progress of staff orientation with the Education Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Specialist.
- Participating in formal evaluations of nursing care delivery and encouraging a scientific, problem‑solving approach.
- Keeping up with technology updates and consulting with Professional Development on protocol revisions.
- Following hospital‑wide safety, infection control, and customer service programs.
- Participating in performance improvement activities and executing team recommendations.
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Preferred Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum Experience: 3–5 years of related nursing experience; 6–10 years preferred.
- Hospital Nursing
Experience:
Minimum of three years. - Managerial
Experience:
1–2 years (charge nurse or nursing supervisor). - Licensure/
Certifications:
ACLS, CPR, Current RN License in Illinois; PALS preferred; CPI training highly desirable.
Compensation: Pay Range: $35.89–$62.91 per hour (actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and location).
