Line Superintendent

• Join an electric distribution cooperative that is member driven and community focused.
• This non-bargaining leadership position focuses on distribution system construction activities and equipment.
• Working primarily at our Operations Center and Headquarters facility in Melrose, MN, with time also spent at the St. Joseph Branch Office Facility and throughout the service territory.
• Starting wage can range from $114,350 - $152,500 with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plans upon eligibility.

• Provide safety leadership, coaching and ongoing feedback to build trust and support crews in working safely and effectively.
• Plan, implement, execute, and follow up on distribution system activities in coordination with the Maintenance Superintendent, Engineering and Operations personnel.
• Report to the Manager of Operations and provide leadership to all line workers with a focus on construction crews.
• Work closely with the Arborist, Safety and Loss Administrator, E&O Support department and Operations personnel.
• Serve as a safety champion by modeling and enforcing safe working practices and procedures.
• Interact with members by phone, email and in person.
• Use technology, including software, apps, reports and data analysis, to support distribution system activities.
• Maintain ongoing awareness of the distribution system, including occasional non-business-hours communication with crews, CRC, employees and management.
• Support safety, budget, member interaction, reliability, accuracy, technology use and a positive workplace culture.

• Knowledge of line construction, operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Electrical Lineworker diploma obtained through an approved program
• Journeyman Lineworker certificate
• Minimum of 5 years of electric utility experience
• Valid Driver’s License and good driving record
• Formal or informal leadership experience
• Current or previous Safety Committee experience
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and positive workplace culture
• Preferred working knowledge of RUS line construction specifications, National Electric Safety Code, and OSHA rules and regulations
• Preferred Class “A” CDL license
• This position does have a 30-mile residency requirement from the reporting office
