Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm or 9:00am - 5:30pm. No weekends required.
This position is responsible for facilitating and overseeing activities of students in the Medical Radiography Program. This position is responsible for performing radiologic procedures on assigned patients according to the policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives of the department and hospital. Perform radiologic procedures that follow radiological standards in a safe, accurate and timely manner, meet the American College of Radiology (ACR) imaging standards and allow the radiologist and/or physician to make a radiological diagnosis.
Responsible for designated areas and/or procedures as assigned. Work cooperatively within departments and other service lines to create a system of quality health care.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate degree in Radiology or related field.
2. Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT).
3. Radiologic Technologist state license or license eligible.
4. Four (4) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree.
2. Five (5) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
3. Two (2) years of experience in a Radiology educational role
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duties and responsibilities listed below are intended to describe the general nature of work and are not intended to be an all-inclusive list. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. In coordination with the Medical Radiography Program Director, serve as the classroom clinical instructor / preceptor / supervisor for students.
2. In cooperation and consultation with the Medical Radiography Program Director, follow the program curriculum plan, develop, implement the daily, weekly and semester classes and clinical rotation schedules for students.
3. Following the Program's established clinical curriculum, perform appropriate evaluation and clinical competency performance assessments on assigned students and assure adequate availability of appropriate clinical cases for students to achieve stated clinical goals and objectives.
4. Organize and implement department policy / procedure orientation sessions for assigned students and appropriate Program faculty.
5. Provide input on the progress of all assigned students toward achievement of their class or clinical performance goals and objectives and assist in filling out student evaluations online.
6. Oversee assigned students' maintenance of their clinical activity log sheets and provide clinical activity summary data.
7. Provide input on issues which may be useful in enhancing the student's educational experience in class or at their site
-and/or- in facilitating student success. Act as liaison between the Imaging Department and the Medical Radiography Program.
8. Provide academic advice for matriculating and prospective program students.
9. Coordinate and manage the in-service program for students and staff.
10. Under the direction of the Director, acts as trainer and mentor for all new hires in the department.
