CT Technologist
This position requires a CT Technologist to work 40 hours per week with various day and evening shifts. The role includes the following essential technical functions: follows hospital protocol for exam routines and produces quality studies in an efficient, timely manner. Is competent to operate all equipment in the department or has requested training in specific areas. Properly warms up the CT scanner and runs quality assurance checks, including pressure injector and PACS units.
Completes CT procedures and tasks efficiently and effectively, providing appropriate feedback to patients and maintaining a clean room. Adjusts and manipulates images to required specifications such as windowing, contrast, and creating reformatted images. Knowledge of scanning systems and associated technology is crucial. Selects appropriate scanning levels based on field of scan and organ selected. Ensures that all scans are properly identified anatomically with all necessary information.
Completes the administrative part of procedures, including tech edits and patient escorts. Notifies the Coordinator or delegate of any equipment malfunctions and reports wet reading findings as necessary. Can access archives for prior exams as needed. Handles clerical duties as necessary to maintain flow and quality expectations. Maintains cleanliness and functionality of work areas. Requests stock as necessary and tidies control rooms.
This role contributes significantly to patient care and the overall functioning of the department.
