Phlebotomist I
Ride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist I to support our client's healthcare facility in Melrose MA 02176.
Schedule:
First shift 8:00 am - 4:00 PM/Eastern time.
Location:
Melrose MA 02176. Job Type: local contract. Contract Length: 6 months + Extension. Pay Range: $17 to $21/hr.
Phlebotomy Certificate Required. Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collections using straight and butterfly needles.
- Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures.
- Verify patient information, physician orders, requisitions, and specimen labels for accuracy.
- Explain blood draw and specimen collection procedures clearly and courteously to patients.
- Maintain specimen integrity by following proper storage, temperature, transportation, and handling protocols.
- Perform equipment maintenance, decontamination, recordkeeping, and patient information updates.
- Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete required annual department training.
- Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 6 months of phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital setting.
- Valid state phlebotomy certification where required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
