Bookkeeper

A growing company in Melville is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Bookkeeper (AP/AR) to support its day-to-day accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on transactional accounting, thrives in an organized environment, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.

• Process accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
• Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, cash applications, and collections follow-up
• Reconcile AR and AP subledgers to the general ledger
• Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
• Resolve billing discrepancies and vendor inquiries
• Support month-end close activities related to AP and AR
• Assist with expense reports and documentation
• Maintain organized financial records and supporting schedules
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate processing

• High school diploma required;
  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or AP/AR roles
• Strong understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
• Comfortable working in an on-site, fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and customer-service mindset
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems a plus
