Senior Tax Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Tax Accountant to join a dynamic team in Melville.

The Client will only consider candidates from Long Island (NO NYC, NJ, or CT).

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee multiple client engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare and review complex multi-state corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and individual income tax returns, such as 1040s, 1041s, 1120s, and 1065s.
• Provide expert advice on estate, trust, and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, including estate, gifting, and IRA strategies.
• Develop year-end tax projections and strategies for quarterly estimates and tax planning.
• Perform tax research and deliver training on relevant topics.
• Resolve tax notices and examinations with government agencies.
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing constructive feedback and evaluating performance.
• Craft client-focused communications and deliver educational content, including webinars.

Qualifications:

• 3-5+ years of experience in public accounting with a strong, diversified tax background.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax, Engagement, and Quick Books.
• Strong technical knowledge of taxation, complemented by exceptional communication and analytical skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Proven leadership and staff development capabilities with a team-oriented mindset.
