Charge Accountant; Bilingual

A major global HVAC manufacturing company is expanding its U.S. footprint and opening a new office in Melville, NY. We are seeking a Full-Charge Accountant to build and own the accounting function for this new location. This is a high-visibility role with strong growth potential as the office expands.

This position is fully on-site and ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, building processes, and being the go-to accounting expert.

The Full-Charge Accountant will manage the day-to-day accounting operations for the U.S. office and ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance, and tax filings across local, state, and federal requirements. This role will work closely with global finance leadership and play a key part in establishing scalable processes as the organization grows.

• Own the full accounting cycle including AP, AR, general ledger, and journal entries
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Maintain and reconcile bank, credit card, and balance sheet accounts
• Manage cash flow tracking and reporting
• Prepare internal financial statements and management reports
• Maintain accounting policies and procedures for the new office

• Oversee vendor setup, invoice processing, and payment runs
• Manage customer invoicing, collections, and aging reports
• Ensure accurate expense tracking and coding

• Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax
• Manage local, state, and federal tax filings
• Coordinate with external CPA firm for corporate tax returns and audits
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal global reporting requirements

• Establish and improve accounting workflows and internal controls
• Assist with ERP and system implementation or optimisation
• Partner with leadership to support budgeting and forecasting
• Help scale the accounting function as the U.S. team grows

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Proven experience as a Full-Charge Accountant or Senior Accountant
• Hands-on experience with:
• AP / AR ownership
• Account reconciliations
• Month-end close
• Sales tax and multi-state tax filings
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience working in manufacturing, distribution, or product-based companies
• Advanced Excel skills

• Experience supporting a subsidiary of a global company
• ERP experience (Net Suite, SAP, Dynamics, or similar)
• CPA or CPA track a plus
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin
