Position Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Melville, Long Island, NY (On-Site)

A growing healthcare company in Melville is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early‑career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in core accounting functions while gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

• Assist with day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries and general ledger support
• Support month‑end close activities, including account reconciliations and schedules
• Prepare and reconcile bank, balance sheet, and expense accounts
• Assist with inventory tracking, cost accounting, and manufacturing‑related transactions
• Support preparation of financial reports and variance analysis
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
• Support audit preparation by compiling schedules and responding to information requests
• Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
• Participate in process improvements and system enhancements as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• 1‑2 years of accounting experience (internships or co‑op experience considered)
• Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
• Experience with accounting software; ERP exposure a plus
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and time‑management skills
• Eagerness to learn and grow within an accounting team
• Strong communication skills and a positive, team‑oriented mindset
