Sr. Accountant

Description

Our client in Melville, NY is seeking a Senior Accountant for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can support key financial operations with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements.

+ Assist with month-end and year-end close processes.

+ Analyze general ledger activity and resolve discrepancies.

+ Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

+ Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

+ Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting documentation as needed.

+ Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes and reporting.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

+ 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior-level role.

+ Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end close

+ Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.

+ Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

+ CPA or public accounting experience is a plus.
