Anna Parson at Robert Half is partnering with a well-established construction services organization in the Melville area seeking an experienced AR / Collections Specialist to join their accounting team. The AR / Collections Specialist role is ideal for a professional with a strong collections background who can effectively manage customer accounts, reduce aging balances, reconcile complex customer accounts and support overall cash flow initiatives.

As the AR / Collections Specialist, you will:

• Manage a high-volume accounts receivable portfolio
• Conduct collection efforts on past-due accounts via phone and email
• Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues
• Process cash applications and reconcile customer accounts
• Reconcile complex customer accounts showcasing your advanced Excel skills such as pivot tables and lookups
• Prepare AR and collections reporting for management
• Assist with month-end accounting activities related to receivables
