Overview
A growing manufacturing company in Melville is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional looking to build a strong foundation in core accounting functions while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Assist with day-to-day accounting operations including journal entries and general ledger support
- Support month-end close activities, including account reconciliations and schedules
- Prepare and reconcile bank, balance sheet, and expense accounts
- Assist with inventory tracking, cost accounting, and manufacturing-related transactions
- Support preparation of financial reports and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Support audit preparation by compiling schedules and responding to information requests
- Collaborate with operations and finance teams to resolve discrepancies
- Participate in process improvements and system enhancements as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- 1–2 years of accounting experience (internships or co-op experience considered)
- Basic understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
- Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data
- Experience with accounting software; ERP exposure a plus
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Eagerness to learn and grow within an accounting team
- Strong communication skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset
